There is no end to the recreation and fun you can have in the Tacoma Area. Tacoma is bordered by miles of waterfront, with beaches and numerous parks. Point Defiance Park , is the cities largest, with over 700-acres. There are miles of walking trails through the wilderness and along the waterfront. Fantastic old growth fir trees here too. Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is in the park. This Zoo has an awesome array of animals and is small enough to let you get really close to them. It's fun and affordable AND offers breathtaking views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountains !t Also has an excellent aquarium. Other attractions within Point Defiance Park include Fort Nisqually , a restored trading post and living history museum. |
