Automobile Enthusiasts Give Back to the Community Volunteers

By Jana Wennstrom, ACM Volunteer Coordinator

If you are reading this, I am going to presume that you are an automobile enthusiast. Your enjoyment of looking at and talking about automobiles is what America’s Car Museum volunteers foster and enhance through their work within the Museum and out in the community. You don’t need to be an expert to enjoy the nice lines of a certain car or the sound of its engine. If you have this appreciation, you are just what ACM is looking for!

You can join over 250 other like-minded men and women in greeting ACM guests, sharing your stories and listening to others’, representing the Museum at offsite events (like the Seattle Auto Show) or at Club Auto in Colorado or Kirkland. If you enjoy telling stories to groups, perhaps your talent could be shared as a Docent or within the Speakers Bureau. Plus there are the numerous events throughout the year that you won’t want to miss: Summer Drive-In Movie Nights, Great Pacific NW Microcar Car Show, the Vintage Motorcycle Festival, Pacific Northwest Concours d’Elegance, and so much more. As a volunteer, you can help out and you can join in the fun at ACM! In addition, you earn rewards for volunteer hours like complimentary Museum passes to share and a family membership, and you also receive free admission to the Museum any time you want to just come and look around when you are not volunteering.

With all of those perks, what’s in it for ACM? You! Everyone has their own unique stories to share and perspectives to offer and you are the key to reaching our visitors to make them feel a part of this bigger history and muse on the future of transportation in America. Consider sharing your talents and time with ACM.
