Chocolate Tasting Party

Where are all the chocolate lovers? Join us for a Chocolate Tasting Party fundraiser for the Puyallup Public Library on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 6:30 pm, with Amy Murphy, dove chocolatier. Bonnie Anderson, children’s librarian, explained “If you enjoy chocolate, you’ll enjoy this party. The event is in honor of the library’s 100th anniversary, that we have been celebrating all year long.  Some events are informative, some are just for fun, and some of them are fundraisers- this one combines all three.”

There will be truffle fudge brownie bites with spiced chai whipped topping, dark chocolate mousse cups, cinnamon-dusted chocolate covered almonds, a refreshingly healthy Pomegranate Vitalize drink, and more. The program will be approximately an hour in length.  Attendees will learn a little history, sample some goodies, play a chocolate trivia game, and raise money for the library at the same time.  Specialty items, that are not available in stores, will be available for purchase.

Tickets to this event are $10, and can be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/454986. Bonnie commented about the event: “Who doesn’t love chocolate?  Indulge your taste buds, and after you purchase goodies for yourself, remember that Christmas is coming up!”
A flyer is available for download.

  1. Yes, There IS a Heaven !!!! Yum,yum and Yum!!! I would attend if I were in the
Tacoma area. Thanks for the DELICIOUS article, Carly.

  2. What a wonderful and unique way to enjoy chocolate and help the library. Wish I could be there, it would be a winner.

  3. I wonder if I should order two tickets for this event? I’m still on Government shutdown and furlough but I can make time. I agree with Doug this sounds like a fun and yummy event. I’m sure they’ll have a lot of interesting treats there.

  4. This was an awesome event! I even saw an old high school classmate at the event (the same one that I ran into at Safeway earlier today).

I don’t like dark chocolate, but did like this dark chocolate ball where the chocolate was covered with fruit. The brownies were delicious and the fondue chocolate fountain you can’t go wrong with.

I learned that chocolate is purple! Bet, you didn’t know that. 😉

    1. Purple. Really? Isn’t Red Velvet Cake made out of chocolate? Sorry I missed the event. I found this on ten secrets you didn’t know about chocolate.

Chocolate is technically responsible for the microwave. Scientists were experimenting with micro waves in hopes of creating better radar detectors and in the wake of World War II, scientists were testing devices called magnetrons. A scientist named Percy Spencer entered the lab with a chocolate bar in his pocket and realized it quickly began to melt. Spencer then realized that the magnetron could potentially be used to cook food. He successfully tried popping corn and then attempted to cook an egg which cooked so quickly, it blew up in his face

  5. Purple….nothing wrong with that! Go Huskies! Sounded like a lot of yummy fun. Sorry I couldn’t make it.
