An Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 30, from 10 am to 11:30 am at Wright Park in Tacoma. The address of Wright Park is: 501 South I Street Tacoma, Washington, 98405. The Easter egg hunt is for children up to age 11. The event is free and open to the public and no pre-registration is required. There will be five different age groups and 4 different start times every 20 minutes. 10:30 am will be the first start time. There will be up to 16,000 eggs and it is on a first come, first serve basis. Registration for the event begins at 9:30 am.
In addition to the Easter egg hunt, there will be bouncy castles, balloons, and face painting. The event and festivities will conclude by noon.
Bo Noonan, Lead Pastor of New Community Church, commented: “When we started the church 6 years ago, we wanted to make sure the church was for the city not just in the city. We wanted to add something to the city and be a blessing to the city. We’ve started doing this as a free event for families to come and have a great time together and celebrate Easter at a beautiful park in the city.”
Bo discussed the best thing about the event, “It’s like a carnival atmosphere, with the bouncy castle and face painting, and there is something for everyone. We ensure everyone will get candy and have a good time. My kids absolutely love it; it’s more than an Easter egg hunt, it’s bouncy castles, balloons, and face painting. It’s right next to the playground at Wright Park.”
Bo mentioned some information about the New Community Church, “We meet on Sundays at Stadium high school, and it’s a great historical location. We also meet throughout the week at what we call “community groups.” We have a strong sense of community and friendship in church. The Sunday service starts at 10 am and is an hour and a half long service.
There is also Sunday school for age 11 and under at the same time, parents are in the main auditorium while kids are in the gymnasium, split into 5 different age groups.
We want to be known for those that are convinced of what they believe and for those that are not yet convinced what the church is about, and we really want to welcome those people in the community as well.
There will also be a special night of worship on for Good Friday on March 29, at 7 pm at the Central Lutheran church located at: 409 N Tacoma Ave. Tacoma, WA 98403, 2 blocks from high school stadium.”

Our church gets so excited as we have 70 volunteers out there to ensure the event is run in a safe and orderly way. We love it and look forward to it every year for sure,” Bo concluded.
