Re-model your home for the holidays and get a free Christmas tree

Abbey Carpet & Floor located at 708 East Main in Puyallup, Washington, is offering a free Christmas tree for those who spend $1,000 of product in the store. Customers who spend $1,000 will receive a certificate to visit a local tree farm to have their tree cut. This is Abbey’s first year offering this incentive for customers and the offer began after Thanksgiving. Barry Lindgren, owner of Abbey Carpet & Floor, explained the purpose of the free Christmas tree, “To provide a little extra incentive for the customer when purchasing and to help them when they get their new floor done…and to beautify their house with the Christmas tree.”

Abbey Carpet & Floor began in 1959 by Barry’s father. The original location of the store was in “Nalley Valley” now commonly known as Center Street in Tacoma. The store moved over to its current location in 1997 and Barry has taken over as the owner of the business since 1996.

Barry commented about his business, “It’s been a rewarding industry to make people happy and feel good about their home being updated and made beautiful. It’s been a lot of fun serving people that way.” He feels the best thing about his business, “Being able to be able to provide employment to our employees.”

Barry discussed what many people may not know about his business, “We provide and install almost anything that would go in your floor: hardwood, ceramic, carpet, vinyl, and counter tops.” He mentioned how Abbey Carpet & Floor is unique compared to other stores, “I think our service is one that can’t be outdone; we have in house installers and subcontractors. Our desire is to give the customer the best product at a valued price that will last them many years.”

Aside from the current promotional offer for a free Christmas tree, Abbey Carpet & Floor has monthly sales in the store. Barry explained, “We just finished customer appreciation in November. Some area rugs and carpets were up to 30% off and up to 50% for retail pricing for hardwood floor. Each month we try to offer a different promotion.”

In February, Abbey & Carpet Floor will have their anniversary sale for being in business for 53 years. The month of May will be the store’s National Gold Tag sale where everything will be on sale.

When asked who he recommended shop at Abbey Carpet & Floor, Barry replied, “We’re looking for people who are looking to remodel and fix up their homes, home owners, remodel contractors, and property managers that manage rental homes. Anything in the residential housing market, we’re not much into new construction since we’re more geared to remodel and updating homes.” Barry also recommends his family and friends to shop at his store, “Maureen our sales associate, is working with her brother to get floors/carpet in his house. Yeah, we do family, friends, acquaintances, business associates…you name it.” “Look up our website for history of the store and all the products we install and sell,” Barry concluded.
