(Most locations feature: swimming pools, spas and fitness centers, and conference facilities.) The ten Northwest property locations are in: Downtown Bellevue, Eastgate Bellevue, Mukilteo, Redmond, Seattle-Broadway, Seattle-Lake Union, Seattle University, Seattle-Stadium, Tacoma, and Downtown Portland.
Kseniya Budnik, a Front Desk Agent for Guest Services, at the Silver Cloud Inn Tacoma has worked in her position for four years and likes it. “I like it a lot. It’s really relaxed here. They [bosses] value your opinion. They listen to you and work around my school schedule. There are regular meetings regarding issues and improvements that’s good and pretty regular. I recommend it [working here] to my friends. A place you want to work. It’s really relaxed. I like it. You’re on the water,” she said.
Kseniya feels that the Silver Cloud Inn is better than other hotels. She commented: “We have free parking and free wireless internet. You get amazing views of the water versus the cars and a busy street. We have the Ram restaurant as our delivery service. Extended continental breakfast, which includes: Belgium waffles, eggs, sausage, pastries from Alki Beach (so they’re fresh), all muffins and scones are fresh from the bakery daily.” Kseniya explained how their motto is “to go above and beyond.” Examples of this include: handling the customer’s luggage, upgrading their guest rooms (free of charge), and placing greeting cards in their room. (For example, if there was a wedding party, Kseniya indicated that [front desk agents] may upgrade visiting newlyweds to a Jacuzzi room and include chocolates with their personalized card. “It’s fun, people celebrating their anniversary. It’s nice to upgrade them,” she said. Kseniya explains that when they take reservations for customers, they take notes for their arrival day to ensure any special occasions are taken into consideration. Kseniya further explained that most other hotels don’t provide extra service. “Normally the front desk person just takes your money and gives you a key to your room,” she explained.
Customers and guests are also happy with their experience. Kristina Young, an Adjunct Professor for English 101, chose the Silver Cloud Inn for her mother visiting from out of town. “It [Silver Cloud Inn] beats the King Oscar and is close to our house. It’s a real hotel. Mom can’t stay with us because of our stairs,” she said. Her mother came to visit for the holidays. Although Kristina has not stayed at the hotel herself, she would like to. “It’s really nice. There’s a huge bed, great view, microwave, and fridge,” she replied.
Dorothy Zimerman, Kristina’s mother stated, “It’s [Silver Cloud Inn] beautiful and being able to look at the water is amazing. Large flat screen T.V., the breakfast room looks charming. Good attitude, not rushed,” she explained about the front desk service. Dorothy said that her granddaughter who just turned 14 mentioned the hotel was nice and wanted to stay there. When asked if she would visit the hotel again, Dorothy replied, “Yeah, I would it’s gorgeous we saw a baby sea otter.” “The room is especially nice. No screen on the windows. You get the air without fighting the screen. It’s the little stuff. I’m looking forward to breakfast.” Dorothy said (since this was her first night at the hotel). She continued, “I like that it’s [the hotel] right on the water beautiful the whole decorating is serene. It’s not fussy or under done. Sometimes you can overdo it. The decorator goes mad,” she said.
Artyom Martemianov, a General Contractor, stayed a night in the hotel to visit a friend. When asked what he thought of the hotel he replied, “I think it was good. Great view. Great service. People are nice here.” “I like the water view. It looks beautiful. There’s a lot of scenery around here,” Artyom said. When asked who he would recommend to visit the hotel, he responded, “I think it’s a romantic place for a couple. I recommended a friend’s sister’s wedding and recommend couples.” He plans to visit the hotel on the 4th of July to see fireworks and visit the fair to eat food. “I think it’s a great hotel and has nice scenery and places to go out within walking distance. Great view, all the about view. Employees are very kind,” he said.
Paul Larson, a retired Doctor, and his wife, Corky are from Chicago and were staying in the hotel to visit their son. They selected Silver Cloud Inn to be near the water and based on their son’s recommendation. “I think it’s fabulous, [the hotel] great yeah…I love that it’s walking distance to coffee shops and our son’s house,” Corky said. “The view of the water is great, beautiful, and calming,” she added. “It’s clean, pleasant, seems to be quite modern,” Paul commented. “I think a lot of people like it, there’s a lot of cars out there,” Paul added. They would recommend anybody that wants to stay in “a smaller community in Seattle but still in the area,” Corky said. “Some artist friends that like the glass museum,” Paul added.
Silver Cloud Inn provides excellent service to many visitors in the Tacoma area, whether they are business trips or for pleasure. Located on the waterfront in Tacoma’s Old Town Community, the Silver Cloud Inn is Tacoma’s only waterfront hotel, just two miles away from the Tacoma Art Museum and the Museum of Glass. All guestrooms have waterfront views. A complimentary Silver Cloud Breakfast is provided. From the water view to the fresh assortment of breakfast items, Kseniya concluded “Silver Cloud Inn is the place to stay because we never stop working for you until everything’s perfect because we want you to feel like you’re at home.”
